OK, I am becoming a Libertarian

A convoy of food and supplies provided by Hyatt hotels in Atlanta and Houston arrived at Hyatt Regency New Orleans on Wednesday of this week.

Regency New Orleans on Wednesday of this week.

Hyatt had a convoy arrive by Wednesday? As Alan notes, Google Maps helpfully tells us that the New Orleans Hyatt Regency is less than two tenths of a mile away from the goddamn Convention Center. I guess FEMA couldn’t figure out the last leg of the trip or something?

Followed by the comment:

Your headline plays right into the hands of the Grover Norquist wing of the Republican Party.

Uhh…yeah. That’s sort of the point.

The commenter also says that government can do better, but it’s Bush or the Republican’s fault.

Which is why every single incident of incompetence, corruption, and lack of planning in the federal government over the last 200 years has all occured under Bush.

I reread the first 10 or 15 pages of The Peace War yesterday. Private police forces, AND gold backed currency in just a few pages.

Maybe SF is escapism.
