In March of 2008, someone – probably in India – bought a mobile telephone. By itself, that wouldn’t be particularly noteworthy, yet it represented a watershed: the halfway mark of humanity’s accelerating interconnection. … one person in two, are wired into the global network.
I continue to be a Luddite.
Maybe after I’m uploaded, I’ll carry a cellphone then.

People with dignity and a taste for privacy eschew the cell phone. And the pager. And the BlackBerry. And those cute lapel-pin communicators from Star Trek.
Anyone who wants to reach me either 1) knows where I am at the moment, and therefore where to find me, or 2) doesn’t, and therefore is not among those persons I would want to be pestered by under prevailing circumstances. All else is madness set to a trendy ringtone.

I draw the line at the cell phone. But .. work insists on being able to reach me 24×7, so a cell phone it is.
Hey – someone’s gotta be there when the mail server goes blam.
