Bein Stein seems to have fallen mentally asleep…if not worse.

Too bad; based on reading his various essays and editorials, he’s been generally a great guy.

    Yeah, he’s been off his rocker for a while now… I can only hope that it’s some form of bizarre performance art? Either that, or he’s secretly converted to fundamentalist Christianity, and didn’t tell anyone. Just sad.

    That was bad. He could have argued a moral equivalence (“I’ve heard the phrase that ‘religion is the root of all evil’ well, there have been some pretty evil things done by atheist scientists as well.”), but not “science leads to murder, in all cases, every time.”

    Y’know, if he’d just ‘science without the love of God’, it would make more sense. From the context, and his previous writing, I get the feeling that that’s what he meant.
