Demonstrated for the godkids this evening:
If you have a decent bed of coals in your wood stove, and toss in a glass bottle, then pull the ash drawer out, creating a blast furnace, you can get the bottle to melt in about 90 seconds.

You’re stove has a seperate ash drawer? Lucky bastard.
Now, if you really wanted to make them go “oooOOOH”, you’d show them how to build one(See “Freon forge”).
