CINCINNATI (AP) – Two college students say the high cost of tuition led them to rob a bank.

The men pleaded guilty to two charges of aggravated robbery and six charges of kidnapping. They face 20 years in prison when sentenced Dec. 27.

Andrew Butler, 20, a student at the University of Toledo, told Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Steve Martin on Monday that tuition increases outpaced his scholarships and financial aid.

If you want money for college and don’t mind carrying a gun, there are options. Lots of them.

Sadly, those options aren’t available to the gays … which is one of the reasons why all bank robbers are homosexuals.

If you want money for college and don’t mind carrying a gun,

The average haul (per some quick Googling) is $4,763 – which isn’t a whole lot given that you’re then wanted by the FBI. That’s not nearly enough reward for the risk. Guys who rob banks knowing this – or without researching it first – do not belong on the ROTC.

Sure they are. ‘Don’t ask don’t tell”.

Boy, don’t get me started. If Clinton had some cojones like Truman and told the military in 1992 “the no gay thing is history: get used to it or find the door” this would all be ancient history.

These guys definitely show a lack of planning ability and foresight. Had they graduated from college, they could have gotten a job at same bank, and then embezzeled it for far more dinero and probably would have faced far less jail time. And have conjugal visits.

    Oh, wait…

I’m continually astonished at just how poorly crime pays.

Particularly the size of bribe required to get elected and appointed officials to do your bidding – I wouldn’t risk my job, much less jail time, for those sums, and I’m not in a position that sets me up for an early full-salary / full-benefits retirement.

That seems to be ‘get elected’ then ‘lobby’.

What scholarship do you get when you can’t hold down your “internship” at a grocery store?
