uncle, again
My baby brother has had his second baby.
Mia Katherine Corcoran was born 6:29 P.M. yesterday and weighed 6lb, 15.3 oz.
So, every year for the next decade or so, Mia’s going to get birthday cake and presents…and then go door-to-door collecting candy.
That’s going to be one massive sugar rush.
I’d been thinking that I might skip the annual Christmas trek down to New Jersey and instead spend this Christmas here at home in Massachusetts, with the extended family of my two Arlington godkids, etc.
…but depending on when the baptism is, I might be hopping on the Accela again sooner rather than later.

One more brain and set of hands to help make us all pseudo-immortal, and get us all to the stars!

If that’s so important (more brains and hands), what’s the hold-up on your contribution…?

Whoops, sorry – wasn’t paying attention.

I just covered that.
You don’t need to get married or have a partner to raise a child. Having one certainly helps and I’d never advocate being a single parent if you have any choice in the matter.
There are options if you’re up for being a parent and there are kids who could use a dad. For those kids ‘a’ parent might be preferable to ‘no’ parent.
Plus .. one imagines children raised in TJICistan would be hipper and better adjusted than most.
That said I have no idea how well a single parent would fare in the adoption biz. Not well, one imagines but if you want it badly enough …

Well, there’s one for the record books. :-)
