I was at a conference with a friend; I was also staying at this friend’s house. My friend attended the slash reading. It was either go with her or stay out in the cold for an hour. I didn’t at the time know what “Harry Potter slash fiction” was or I would have chosen the cold.
Trust me.

“OK, I’ll play the tax accountant with the fake leg, and you play the mild mannered book reviewert who thinks that most modern fantasy is garbage…and you’ve been very very naught, and have to be punished…”

What kind of friend won’t let you stay behind at her house while she goes out for an hour or two? Or is it you?
Also – “slash reading“. Brrr. I don’t want to think about what happens afterward if the stories were well-written enough to get everyone riled up …
