  1. Paul Says:

    I buy my milk from a local dairy farmer. The store and processing
    plant are on the premises. The flow of milk for me is:

    Cow -> Processing -> Store -> Me

    Note that the processing and the store components are the only “middle-men”, which in this case, is the same *family* farmer.

    My milk costs, on average, $2/gallon *less* than the USDA Certified
    Organic crap at and pollutes the
    earth a whole lot.

    Have you met the cow from which your milk came? I have, she’s happy,
    healthy, and grass-fed. As opposed to the “certified organic” cows
    which are usually fed corn, a food cows are not naturally able to
    easily digest. The cows my milk come from are able to roam around in
    the pastures as they please, as opposed to “organic” cows, which are
    raised in rather cruel conditions, aren’t allowed to go outside for
    fear of catching something for which they can’t be treated…

    Hmm, yeah, “organic” may (or may not) be better for you, but it
    certainly isn’t any picnic for the cow!
