TJIC is a racist because he believes in opportunity and disbelieves in welfare

Yeah, dumb, privileged middle class white Jane Galt stayed in school, graduated, didn’t get pregnant, didn’t yell at her bosses for “dissin’ her”, and thus, quickly ended up in the middle class… where she generates sufficient wealth to allow her to pay for her groceries herself, as opposed to making bad choices, generating minimal value, and being a net drain on the productivity of others.

How much do you want to bet that he’ll throw a hissy fit when I say he’s racist? Double points if he comes back and tells me that no, I’m the racist, because he’s colorblind and just expects those lazy black folks to pull their own weight the same way that hard-working white people do.

“Throw a hissy fit” ?

What do I look like, a female Harvard professor ?

Sorry, I’m not particularly prone to attacks of “hissy”, “the vapors”, or “outrage” – I’m too busy generating wealth to support the various welfare classes of America (AFDC and EBT recipients, yes, but also academics, large rent-seeking corporations like ADM, NASA employees, subsidized farmers, and, and, and, and…).

In short, I really don’t care if Feministe calls me a racist. I know it not to be true, at least by any sane definition of the word, and the people whos opinions I care about also know it to be true. I support Rice for president, if she runs. I pushed to hire the first black engineer into my division at my first job after college. I support race-blind policies at all levels of government (for as long as we fall short of anarchotopia, at least).

Let’s reexamine one particular point:

he’s colorblind and just expects those lazy black folks to pull their own weight the same way that hard-working white people do.

First, let’s call out the fact that I have no reason to believe that attitudes towards hard work are genetically encoded; I think attitudes towards hard work are cultural.

Second:

Hard-working? White people?

The culture of native born whites tends to be fairly lazy, in my experience (although not nearly as lazy as the culture of native born blacks). Most members of both the middle class and lower classes in the US are given so much as handouts that they truly do not understand hard work. I’ll repeat my many earlier vociferous posts in favor of immigrants and immigrant culture. Give me economic refugees from Bolivia, Haiti, Russia, and Sweden yearning to breathe free (and work hard, and actually earn a couple of bucks). Speaking of Bolivia, I’ve got one Bolivian working for me (working at the same hourly rate as a native born American (sorry to defeat the rejoinder already being queued up by the leftists – he was hired because he was the best applicant, better than several native-born Americans)), and he’s twice as hard a worker as any of my other employees…and that’s before he heads off to his second 40-hour-per-week job.

Third: Yes, I am color blind. And, yes, I do expect lazy folks (of whatever skin color) to pull their own weight the same way that hard-working people (of whatever skin color) do.

If Feministe doesn’t, then shame on her.

    I support race-blind policies

Well, if that’s not an admission of racism, I don’t know what is.

Basically, you can count on anyone who gives her primary identity as a “feminist” to have exactly the same hysterically libelous reaction to your perfectly sensible assessment as “Feministe.”

Shall we pour some gasoline on her fire?

As of the 2000 census, there were 228 million self-identified white Americans and 36 million self-identified black Americans: 6.33 whites per black. Blacks constituted 12.8% of the country’s population, whites were 81.1%. In nearly all of the nearly 27,000 racial discrimination charges filed with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission last year, the plaintiff was black. Black households constituted 35% of all households receiving food stamps. The federal government no longer publishes a racial breakdown of recipients of public assistance, perhaps because it’s too embarrasing to blacks. Overall, black Americans qualify as the most pampered, preferred, and assisted category in the history of Mankind.

Yet in 2002, 68.2% of all black infants were illegitimate, i.e., born to single mothers. Black dropout rates from high school were at 20.0%, substantially greater than those of whites (14.9%) and Asians (12.4%). Delinquencies were twice as numerous per capita among black juveniles (92.5 per 1000) as among whites (46 per 1000). Blacks were unemployed twice as frequently per capita (10.5% of the black labor force) as whites (5.1% of the white labor force). And in 2002, despite there being more than six times as many whites as blacks in America, there were 6,834 black murder victims in comparison to 6,857 white murder victims…murder being a crime in which the perpetrator is nearly always the same race as his victim.

All the above comes from federally collected statistics: mostly, the Statistical Abstract of the United States. Is it all due to white racism?

Apparently, TJIC is a racist. That’s only half the story, though. Did you know he’s Catholic too?
    Oh noes, Batman!
All seriousness aside, I’ve had it with feminism. That Feministe can taunt TJIC by saying he’s going to thr…

Maybe I hate brown people so much that I’m willing to spend money to bribe them to take “dead end” jobs that are “demeaning”…you know, the kinds of things that my great grandparents and grandparents did, to make new lives for themselves in the New World ?

we’ve had a set of female romanian anesthesiology residents who have made me rethink the phrase “works like a dog” to “works like a romanian”. Of course, there’s no saying that the males would work like the females– seen too many lazy male FMGs that seem to think their mothers are going to come and clean up their messes– so “works like a female romanian” might be a bit unweildy. Except now we have a female romanian who isn’t too bright, but she’s a fellow, not a resident, so then you’d have to add “works like a female romanian resident”.
Don’t even get me started with my theory of liver transplant fellowship interacting with anesthesia residency…
