Turns out that there’s an athlete named “Gay” and the wind was at his back as he was running.
I note that there’s a bit more headline detail at the page I cite – I originally saw it as a blurb (exactly as quoted above) elsewhere at rawstory.com.
Man, that was a weird headline.

I remember back about six months ago this same guy broke some other record. I only remember it because the story was linked on a technical site I follow, indicating why automatic political correctness filters might be a bad idea for news sites. Everywhere in the article he was referred to as Tyson Homosexual.

Might be legend but I heard a story of an airline pilot commuting on another flight and getting bumped by paying passengers. His name was Gay and apparently the stew asked the wrong passenger if they were gay when they said yes they were told they had to get off the plane Mr. Gay heard this and said ‘no i’m gay I’ll get off’ and someone else said ‘well I’m gay too they can’t throw us all off’ Truly unfortunate for folks with that name.
