Obama’s failure to support the Iranian protesters
The right is getting upset that the Obama administration isn’t condemning the vote stealing in Iran and supporting the marchers.
There are two possibilities:
- Obama is a craven little wimp who doesn’t care about the political freedoms of foreigners.
- The administration – as they are in fact claiming – doesn’t want to align the Iranian protesters with the West, giving the Iranian hardliners something to use to convince the Undecided Third to join the hardliners.
I’m actually willing to believe that the latter is true.
…so I’m going to let this right wing bus pass with out getting on it.

Couldn’t it be both?

Or could it be that this particular pot doesn’t care to be calling that kettle black?

Having lived in Iran a few years before the 79 revolution, I saw how the country was embracing western lifestyles. The students at that time thought they could get a better deal going fundamentalist. They now know they were wrong. The best thing for Iran is for the US and Israel to keep quiet and let the people there over through the government. If we mettle, the people will back the current government.

Considering how I love to criticise when I disagree with you I want to compliment you on your objectivity in this situation.
