On December 15, the city council of Binghamton, New York–every member a proud progressive–unanimously passed an ordinance making it a crime to discriminate against fat people.

Speaking as a fat person, I detest the government’s interference with anyone’s right to discriminate against people for their weight.

It is entirely legal under the common law for anyone to discriminate for or against someone based on their weight, height, age, veteran status, sexuality, etc.

Any government that seeks to prevent people from making their own decisions according to their own criteria (a) hates freedom; (b) therefore is illegitimate.

Fat people are not merely drawn to eating unhealthy food; they are “addicted.”

Progressives now treat overweight people the same way that they treat blacks – as second class citizens who only a fool would suggest are responsible for their own choices.

Hmmm… which would I rather be? A victim with no free will and therefore access to special privileges, or a free adult?

A pretty easy question to answer, actually.
